Go Red for Women: A Heartfelt Blend of Fashion, Elegance, and Purpose

On Sunday, June 8, the Trinidad and Tobago Heart Foundation hosted its annual Go Red for Women High Tea and Fashion Show at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad. The event, infused with glamour and grace, carried a powerful mission: to raise awareness of cardiovascular health among women in Trinidad and Tobago.

Guests were treated to an afternoon of fine dining, a lively fashion showcase, interactive photo booths, and the opportunity to support local artisans who proudly displayed and sold their products. While the event dazzled with creativity and style, at its core was a call to action—encouraging women to prioritize their heart health and wellbeing.

One of the highlights came from the runway, where House of Jacqui model, Amelia-Aisha Ifill captured both the spirit of fashion and the purpose of the event. Reflecting on her experience, Amelia shared:

“It was not just a runway moment, it was more than that. It was more like a purpose in motion. Every pose I made and every strut I took, it was not just to showcase a look, it was using my talent and passion for modelling to raise awareness and advocate for heart health in our society. It was truly an honour to stand in front of a crowd, not just as a model but as a vessel for something so meaningful. It was truly and deeply humbling. It was a moment for me to create an impact.”

For Amelia, the event was defined in three words: purpose, elegant, and purposeful—a sentiment that resonated throughout the afternoon as fashion became a vessel for advocacy.

The Go Red for Women High Tea and Fashion Show was not just a social gathering, but a reminder of the urgent need to address cardiovascular health, especially among women. With each step down the runway, each artisan’s creation, and each conversation shared over tea, the message was clear: heart health matters, and together, style and substance can create a lasting impact.
