On Saturday, July 12, 2025, style and purpose converged at D Space Upstairs Flo Essence in St. James, as local fashion lovers gathered for Fashion for a Mission 2, a vibrant runway event with a heart. Hosted by designer and missionary Liselle Frauenfelder-Vialva, the event blended Caribbean creativity with a powerful message of faith and service.

The showcase featured an inspired lineup of local talent, including Handmade by Alora, Bhol Designs, Kerby Young Designs, Crochet Peace, Richard Noel, and Liselle’s own label, Yaa Zea Fashion. Each collection brought its own flair—from intricate crochet work to bold contemporary silhouettes—celebrating the diversity and ingenuity of Trinidad and Tobago’s fashion scene.
Beyond the fabric and flair lay a story of spiritual transformation. During the event, Liselle shared her personal testimony, describing herself as a “runner”—someone who once resisted her divine calling. Drawing parallels to the biblical story of Jonah, she spoke of life’s “whale moments,” those unexpected trials that redirect us toward purpose. She ventured as far as designing swimsuits and costumes for Carnival bands locally, regionally and internationally before embracing her true calling. Her words resonated with the audience, serving as a reminder that faith can turn obstacles into stepping stones.
The evening was not only a feast for the eyes but also a mission of compassion. Proceeds from the show supported a missionary trip to Brazil, where Liselle and a team of Christian missionaries provided aid, nourishment, and relief to impoverished communities.
Fashion for a Mission 2 was more than a fashion show—it was a living testimony of God’s work, proving that beauty and benevolence can walk the same runway. Through fabric, faith, and fellowship, Liselle Frauenfelder-Vialva continues to inspire others to answer their own call to service.
